Edinburgh Napier’s Maggie Reid to participate in coveted global leadership programme

Edinburgh Napier University (ENU) is pleased to share that Maggie Reid, a business development and relationship manager with the university’s Research, Innovation and Enterprise team, has been selected to participate in the global, TenU Future Leaders Programme.

TenU is an international collaboration formed to capture effective practices in research commercialisation and share these with governments and higher education communities. Its members work together to increase the societal impact of research.

Each year, the TenU Future Leaders Programme selects a diverse cohort of technology transfer professionals with a key aim to strengthen the technology transfer community by offering a training programme that will provide opportunities for virtual collaboration and exchange of insight into trends in international research commercialisation.

Maggie has worked with Edinburgh Napier University for over 5 years. In her role, Maggie is responsible for supporting the growth of the business engagement pipeline, stakeholder management and knowledge exchange income for the School of Applied Sciences (SAS) and the School of Health and Social Care (SHSC). In her time with ENU, she has supported the development of many external partnerships for research collaborations, including a long-term international partnership with Newborns Vietnam, which has had six sector award nominations and won two awards.

Commenting on being accepted on to the programme, Maggie said:

“I am very much looking forward to starting the TenU programme. I hope I can bring elements from my health and social care experience and stakeholder management skills to the group. And being able to learn and network with my international peers will be invaluable to my development and provide me with skills that I can utilise in my KE role; supporting more impactful projects.”

Head of Business Engagement and IP Commercialisation at Edinburgh Napier University Fiona Mason added:

“I am absolutely delighted for Maggie to be involved in this prestigious programme. Maggie’s success at getting accepted into this programme is worthy recognition of the accomplishments Maggie has made in her career to date, specifically in her leadership, negotiation and communications skills in helping transfer good ideas, research and skills from Edinburgh Napier to make a real positive impact to businesses, the public sector and wider communities on a local, national and global scale. It offers a fantastic opportunity for both Maggie and Edinburgh Napier to share and learn from best practise with other leading, international universities.

“I am confident Maggie will greatly benefit from taking part in this programme for her personally in her career and also to support further Edinburgh Napier’s ambitions to advance further successful industry innovation collaborations.”
