In an increasingly competitive international marketplace, it is important for governance leaders to differentiate themselves as confident, experienced leaders and individuals who can bring a highly valued skillset to any organisation, and who are ready and qualified to pursue a suitable board-level opportunity with a charity or local community organisation.

Hosted through Edinburgh Napier University's new Centre for Business Innovations and Sustainable Solutions, this networking event is being convened by Associate Professor in Systems, Sustainability and Supply Chains at Edinburgh Napier University's Business School, Dr Miles Weaver.

This event will give attendees the opportunity to network with others in the governance field, from those established in this area, to those starting out or in the early stages of their careers. Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect and hear more about Edinburgh Napier's expertise, teaching and training in this area.

GUEST SPEAKERS AND KEY TALKS:

  • Karen Ritchie, LiBG graduate
  • Lisa Paris, LiBG graduate
  • Associate Professor Dr Kenny Crossan, Lecturer in Economics at Edinburgh Napier University, will offer guidance and insights 'Getting you Board Ready for the Dilemma Game' (LiBG participants only)

There will also be a short presentation by Associate Professor Dr Weaver on behalf of the Operational Research Society on the free pro bono opportunity for charities to connect volunteer analysts with a good cause. Dr Weaver is a member of the UK General Council for the Operational Society and will link interested parties with Eve Hardy of the Society Pro Bono team.

This event is free to attend, however advanced registration is essential.
