MeCCSA Conference 2025

Join the Media, Communication and Cultural Studies Association (MeCCSA) for their annual conference which is taking place at our Edinburgh Napier University Craiglockhart Campus, 4-6 September 2025.
Conference Theme: Identity and Belonging
In a world shaped by economic challenges, conflict, and migration, media and culture play a vital role in how we understand and express identity. As people navigate shifting cultural and social landscapes, questions arise:
- How are identities preserved or transformed?
- What responsibilities do researchers have in addressing identities at risk?
This year’s theme invites reflection on how identities are mediated and how they mediate themselves, across gender, race, ethnicity, disability, social movements, and more.
Belonging in research and practice
The 2025 conference also explores belonging within academic communities and broader societal groups. Whether your work focuses on:
- Media, communications, or cultural studies
- Climate change, policy, or conflict
This is a space to reflect on the character of our disciplines and the communities we build.
