The Scottish Healthcare Built Environment Network (SHBEN) is a collaborative initiative between NHSScotland Assure and academic partners, established to improve healthcare environments across Scotland. A launch event will be held at Edinburgh Napier University on 15 January 2026 to help share the future of the Network.

The vision of the network is to be "A recognised, collaborative, and interdisciplinary network for healthcare-built environment research - informing evidence-based guidance, driving innovation and contributing to safe, effective, and person-centred healthcare settings across Scotland."
